Over the past three months, OCEAN SHIPPING has successfully organized and conducted a Cadet Training Program at its Training Department for more than 20 students from the Marine Engineering and Deck Departments of Vietnam Maritime University, who were preparing to graduate in August 2026

The program was designed to help students strengthen their practical knowledge, become familiar with the working environment on board vessels, and better prepare themselves before officially embarking on their professional careers at sea.

One of the key highlights of the program was the opportunity for Cadets to receive direct training and practical guidance from experienced Masters and Chief Engineers with extensive experience in the maritime industry. Professional knowledge, real-life situations encountered during vessel operations, and practical approaches to handling work were shared in an engaging and practical manner, giving students valuable insights beyond the theoretical knowledge acquired at university

In addition to professional knowledge, OCEAN SHIPPING placed particular emphasis on maritime English and general communication English, helping Cadets gradually improve their ability to use English in their daily work, communicate effectively with international crew members, and better meet the requirements of working in a professional onboard environment.

After three months of training, the Cadets not only strengthened their professional knowledge but also gained essential skills and practical experience, providing them with a solid foundation to confidently join vessels, begin their professional careers, and pursue long-term development in the maritime industry.

OCEAN SHIPPING considers the training and development of young maritime professionals to be one of its key priorities, contributing to the development of a highly qualified Vietnamese seafarer workforce with the professional skills and capabilities required to meet the increasingly high standards of both the domestic and international maritime industries.
